Archival Corpus

The prefectorial administration has been created in 1790 with the law 28 pluviôse (17 February 1800). It embodies the authority of the State in the department. The collection contains a wide range of documents related to the administation of the prefecture of Bouches-du-Rhône. It incudes, inter alia, series related to the assurance of public order, the protection of the civil rights (political and professional elections, issuance of residence permits to foreigners, the processing of naturalisation applications and the control of local authorities.
