Archival Corpus

The Centre de Documentació de la Pesca i el Mar is a project created in 2006 by the University of Girona (UdG), the City Council of Palamós and the Promediterranean Foundation with the collaboration of the Museu de la Pesca, the Càtedra d’Estudis Marítims and the UdG Library Service. It includes specialized collections on maritime fisheries from the Social Sciences perspective -currently its catalogue has more than 11,000 references.

The main function of the Documare is to facilitate access to its collections to researchers and students, as well as to the technical staff of the Museu de la Pesca and to other related organizations. At the same time, it aims at the generation and dissemination of knowledge on maritime fishing, coastal heritage, gastronomy and fish consumption. Its users have access to a wide range of information and documentation, physical and digital, specialized in the fields of fishing and maritime heritage, as well as to primary and secondary sources.
