Archival collection history :
The archival collection consists of 121 folders of the Russian Steam Navigation and Trading Company, the biggest Russian state subsidized steamship company in the Black Sea, established in 1856. The folders cover the period from 1869 till 1920 and enclose administrative correspondence with captains and agents about cargo and passenger movements, as well as correspondence with foreign shipbuilding companies. Likewise, the folders contain payrolls of the catering crews and documentation on the professional school of the company. The archive includes heterogeneous kinds of documents, covering only particular aspects of the activities of the company.
