From the 10th of January until the 14th of February 2018, Ph.D. candidate Popi Vasilaki has been to France in order to conduct her archival research for her Ph.D. titled ‘Les communautés maritimes en France méditerranéenne. Les cas de Cassis et de La Ciotat. 1850-1920’ [Maritime communities in French Mediterranean. The cases of Cassis and La Ciotat. 1850-1920]. During her stay, Popi Vasilaki visited in Marseille the Departmental Archives of Bouches-du-Rhone, the Archives of the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie Marseille-Provence, the Municipal Archives of Marseille; in La Ciotat the Municipal Archives and the Archives of the Museum of La Ciotat; in Havre the French Lines Archives, and in Paris the National Library of France. During this month, she has located, examined, evaluated and collected a large range of archival material appropriate for her research. She also had the opportunity to meet and discuss research matters with the TELEMME team and more specifically Professors Olivier Raveux and Xavier Daumalin whose support and advises has been equally critical.
